I must admit I get a little hot under the collar when people (even Aspies themselves) mispronounce this. You have to remember that German speakers pronounce “A” with an “Ah or Arr” sound and use a “soft G” not hard G like English e.g. as in ‘Gun’ not ‘Germany’. This gives us Arrs-per-ger, if my limited knowledge of German pronunciation is correct.

Hey all.
I’m with a guy now named Cody who has the syndrome and I realized that, by not knowing anything about it, I didn’t know much about him, and we were planning on getting married!
So, I googled it and came upon this website.
I would like to thank everyone involved with it because it taught me more than just the facts. Having other people actually make comments and talk about their own experiences helped me to better understand the syndrome.

Thanks for the comment and link Tom, I hadn’t seen the podcasts but did hear about MIC when the whole “Ransom Notes” debacle hit (I was appalled by it). I’ll have to start listening to the MIC podcasts.

I don’t like it when people spell Asperger Syndrome wrong either. I have been on an endeavor for quite some time to cure the world of ignorance about autism and autism spectrum disorders. One of the projects I have been working on to that effect are the Midnight In Chicago podcasts which can be found at http://www.mic.mypodcast.com . There parents can learn the SCIENCE about autism and learn what autistics and other parents say about ASDs as well.
