Cute Things Falling Asleep

by Melissa on January 8, 2009

I think I have found my new mindless love (aside from myself of course) – Cute Things Falling Asleep. The site owner takes videos from YouTube of babies and animals falling asleep and rates them on a cuteness and a sleepiness factor (1-5 for each.)

I just giggled while watching these videos. I secretly wished I’d had a video camera with me the one time my son did something similar. It was a rare day in Arizona where my grandmother’s house (about 4,000 ft elevation) received about 1.5 feet of snow. The whole family drove up (about 30 minutes from my house) and had a fun day in the snow.

On the way home, we stopped by one of our favorite Mexican food restaurants in a tiny Arizona town for some good (and fattening) food. While sitting at the table, Alexander began to nod off. I’d wake him and he’d nod off again. He was sitting upright in his chair and would just fall to the side. Being the silly mom that I am, I propped him back up a few times just to watch him fall over (into my lap so othing serious.) After few times I let him snooze with his head resting carefully in my lap.

This extremely flexible kitty is one of my favorites on the site.

Well for right now I get to watch the real thing as Thatcher snuggles as my feet. I suspect he is not really asleep but waiting for a moment when I’m not paying attention so that he can charge off with one of my fluff muffs in his jaws. Until now I never realized that I must have smelly feet.
Cheers
