Oh…my…goodness!
I am so insanely busy lately that it isn’t even funny. I have my writing projects, new clients, my work with Attachment Parenting International, my 15 credit hours and of course the kiddos.
On Tuesday, Ava didn’t want to go to dance, she kept saying “I don’t feel very well.” She didn’t have a fever and Alex had his hip-hop dance class so I asked her if she’d come along and just sit and she was fine with that. Alex did a great job in hip-hop; that boy is starting to get some serious rhythm going on!
Once we got in the car, Ava was crying/screaming because her tummy hurt. We went over everything she ate that day and it appears that she had nothing with eggs in it (she has an egg white allergy). I ended up taking her in to the ER because she was pointing to her center/right side – right where the appendix is.
As we were sitting in the hall being triaged, the nurse got to the question about whether she’d thrown up. I said no and then almost as if on cue, she emptied her tummy contents out. She threw up with such force that it knocked the both of us off the chair and I had to fight to maintain balance.
During my balancing act, my iPhone and my special edition Coach wristlet fell into the vomit. The iPhone fell face down and the puke fried the bottom half of the touch screen. The top half worked fine but not the bottom.
Well the good news was that it wasn’t Ava’s appendix and no one is really sure what happened but the tummy ache was gone. Gotta love being a mom!
PS. I purchased a new 3G iPhone on Wednesday, I am so thankful for the iTunes backup feature – I didn’t lose a single piece of data.

omg – is this MY life too funny!! Hope everyone is doing better
I actually found your blog while looking for camps/programs for my son this morning and found your “101″ site about camps…I found one that I’m going to investigate. We have other issues – dwarfism and apraxia – which makes it especially daunting. He’s in a great private program that the district pays for — but summer isn’t always the best there and we are just investigating our options. You know how it goes. keep writing…
