Dear Coalition Members,

We regret to inform you that the Court of Appeals overturned the injunction that was protecting services for thousands of individuals with disabilities living in state of Arizona.

The organization that initially filed the lawsuit to protect services, Arizona Association of Providers for People with Disabilities (AAPPD), fully intends to appeal this decision in the Arizona State Supreme Court. We will keep you informed as details become available. To view a copy of the Court of Appeals ruling visit our website, http://www.azautism.org. There is no formal comment from DES at this time.

Your advocacy is needed now more than ever! Call or email your legislators and Governor Brewer. Visit http://www.azleg.gov to locate your district and contact information for your legislators. Governor Brewer’s website is http://www.governor.state.az.us/.

The 2010 budget is still being decided so now is the time to let people know how important services for individuals with disabilities are to you and your family.
